The first building ever to be built & constructed by mankind. Dated all the way back from Prophet Adam’s PBUH ancient days. Though it’s being narrated, Angel-arch Gabriel (جبرائيل – Jibrāʾīl) was first put them in construction in prehistoric-time due the Lord’s instruction — some thousand years before the first man ever walked the face of this Dun’ya (دُنْيا).
But due to ancient prehistoric meteorites shower calamities (Hajar Aswad الحجر الأسود), hit the earth — it had been left ruined for some period of time — till where prophet Adam PBUH rebuilt the construction — as he was provisioned by the Lord to do so.
Another catastrophic event had once again ruined the construction, due to prophet Noah’s PBUH 40-years of tidal wave — that caused global flood — where it would have no mankind remaining left in the face of this Dun’ya (دُنْيا), except those aboard the ark.
Continuously being passed on to another prophetic generations — from prophet Abraham, to both of his sons Ishmael & Ichsaac (Peace be upon them all), where they all restored the construction & had been given the first Pilgrims commandment as the Lord’s revelation.
Along aside, pagans and idolaters (Al-Kafirun – The Disbelievers – الكافرون) were once conquered the construction, where they had put statues and symbols of mockery to resemble God’s presence in a concrete physical form surrounded the construction — this age known as the period of Jahiliyyah (جاهلية – Days of Ignorance). The people in Arab peninsulas, were very much of idols worshipers back in those prehistoric days.
Came along the final prophethood to close the seal of all the Lord’s revelation & prophecies. And he was Mohammad PBUH, yet he wasn’t bringing relatively a new religion, after-all (This day I have perfected for you your religion and completed My favor upon you & have approved for you Islam as [your] religion | QS 5:3).
So little that I know — the construction had gone through various series of epic prehistorical events. That’s how life is — C’est La Vie! 🙂 – at Masjid Al-Haram المسجد الحرام
