This is Jabal Al-Nour (جبل النور – The Mountain of Light) — among one of the location where probably young Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) (محمد), an orphanage at 6, had spent his early childhood in climbing-off its trees, cliffs & hills during his infant days as a toddler.
Located right behind the Jabal Al-Nuur (جبل النور – The Mountain of Light) — a cave called Hira (غار حراء – Ġār Ḥirāʾ ), where grown-up Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) (محمد) used to get drawn deeply in prayer & meditation (one genius & logical thinker he was) — about the whole concept of the universal creation and humanity.
As he turned 40, he received his first revelation from Angel-arch Gabriel (جبرائيل – Jibrāʾīl) that marks his first prophethood on that very same spot where he used to benchmark & crash-test the status-quo’s concept of universal creation & divinity. Due, during the Jahiliyyah (جاهلية – Days of Ignorance) age, the Arabian peninsulas — on pre-islamic era, were occupied predominantly with pagans & idolaters (الكافرون – The Disbelievers).
Each one of this revelations (وحي – Waḥyu), were very much the basic foundation that constructed The Qur’an chapters altogether — where they try to address the liturgical (دين, – Deen – Way of Life) & eschatological (الآخرة – ʾĀkhirah – Hereafter) aspects & issues of mankind. It represents the fountainhead of Divine guidance for every Moslem (مسلم).
The key message brought by the Quran is to believe in One God (توحيد tawḥīd – Monotheism) & not to associate partners with Him (شرك šhirk – Idolatry or Polytheism), to stay away from sins (حَرَام Harām – Forbidden Act) and to lead a life devoted to earning God’s pleasure (جنّة Jan’nah). All Monotheistic (توحيد tawḥīd ) Prophets taught about life after death (الآخرة – ʾĀkhirah – Hereafter) and gave glad tidings of paradise (جنّة Jannah) for those who obey God (الله), but warned of His severe punishment in Jahanam (جهنم – Hellfire) for those who choose to disobey Him.
It is the last testament in a series of divine (دين – Deen) revelations from The Creator (الله). It comprises the unaltered & direct words of The Almighty (الله), revealed through His Angel-arch Gabriel (جبرائيل – Jibrāʾīl) to the final Prophet, Muhammad (PBUH) (محمد) some 1400 years ago (We have, without doubt, sent down the Message [Qur’an]; and We will assuredly guard it [from corruption] | QS 15:9).
Hence basically, Islamic teaching in principle, wasn’t a whole new set of beliefs — rather is a continuation in teachings of previous Monotheistic (توحيد – tawḥīd) Prophethood (Indeed, We have revealed to you, [O Muhammad], as We revealed to Noah and the prophets after him. And we revealed to Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, the Descendants, Jesus, Job, Jonah, Aaron, and Solomon, and to David We gave the book [of Psalms] | QS 4:163).
Its revelation to the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) (محمد), and his practical implementation of the revelation (سنة – ‘Sunna), completed The Lord’s (الله) blessing for humanity and mankind, in providing us with a belief and value system that is valid for all times (This day I have perfected for you your religion and completed My favour upon you & have approved for you, Islam as [your] religion | QS 5:3).
So, Happy Maulid Nabi Muhammad (PBUH – محمد) 12 Rabiul Awal 1435H, to all the Moeslim around the globe. May Allah SWT, bless us with Shafaat (شفاعت) of our late prophet Muhammad (PBUH – محمد), Amien YRA! 🙂 – at Jabal Al-Nour — جبل النور
