It has been reported — that 3 of these following prophets and messengers of Allah, made the following du’a (supplication) to The Almighty when they were in needs of something major — while going through some crucial difficulties in their life — and the All Knowing nourished their prayers.
Prophet Joseph (Yūsuf ibn Yaʿqūb ibn Isḥāq ibn Ibrāhīm) — while he was down in a dungeon, Prophet Jonah (Dhul-Nun, Arabic: ذو النون; meaning The One of the Whale, Chapter 10th of the Qur’an is named after Jonah), while he has in the belly of a whale. And Prophet Moses (Mûsâ ibn Amram), once he got kicked-out of Egypt by Pharaoh, was being lonely, poor, jobless and unemployed.
Surat Al-Qaşaş (The Stories) –
So he watered [their flocks] for them; then he went back to the shade and said, “My Lord, indeed I am, for whatever good You would send down to me, in need.”
Surat Al-‘Anbyā’ (The Prophets) –
And [mention] the man of the fish, when he went off in anger and thought that We would not decree [anything] upon him. And he called out within the darknesses, “There is no deity except You; exalted are You. Indeed, I have been of the wrongdoers.” | QS 21:87
Surat Yūsuf (Joseph) –
[Of these stories mention] when Joseph said to his father, “O my father, indeed I have seen [in a dream] eleven stars and the sun and the moon; I saw them prostrating to me.” | QS 12:4
Even those (prophets) — who were given the promises of Jann’ah (heaven), were put into difficulties, trials and tribulations by Allah. Had it been through the mean of isti’qomah (steadfastness) & du’a (prayers) and His wills — would have they managed to endure those barriers.
Now don’t forget your Dhu’ha (forenoon) prayers without its Dzi’khir (remembrance) upon the above quoted ayyah (verses). So, let’s hear it for the day folks, “Bismillah”.
